60th Anniversary Celebrations

The Hills District Women’s Bowling Club celebrated its’ 60th anniversary on 6 June 2019.

The Club was fortunate to have 4 past Presidents attend our celebration – Margaret Walker, Wendy Byers, Janice Hawthorne and Barbara Burdack – along with 95 year old Tess Swanson, who was a member when the Club celebrated its’ 30th anniversary in 1989.

Bad weather meant there was no bowling, but there was a great morning tea, followed by a game of trivia and then a celebration lunch attended by over 90 people.

Current President, Pat Robinson, during her speech, said that whilst bowling is part of the attraction of being a member of our Club, it’s also the camaraderie and friendships which make it all worthwhile.

There was a display of past uniforms on show and also lots of information about past committee members, photos of pennant winning sides and Life Members.

It was a great day for our Club and we are all looking forward to the 70th anniversary in 2029.
