Life Member

Jan Hawthorne was awarded Life Membership to the Hills District Women’s Bowling Club in 2021.  Jan was also made a Life Member of The Hills Club Ltd at their 2021 AGM.

Jan began playing lawn bowls in March 1991 with the HDWBC and has been a loyal, active and supportive member since that time.

Jan has been involved as a Committee member within the Club for 12 years in the following positions:

• Member of the Match Committee for 4 years (2002-2005)
• Member of the Selection Committee for 2 years (2008 & 2009)
• Chair of the Selection Committee for 2 years (2010 & 2011)
• President for 4 years (2012-2015)
• Member of Match/Selection in 2016.

Jan was also instrumental in winning 7 pennant flags for The HDWBC – 3 in Grade 3, and 4 in Grade 4.

Jan’s calm attitude and willingness to make all players feel part of any team she plays in, makes her very approachable and a very worthy recipient of Life Membership of the HDWBC.
